BobaQueue vs OrderReady
OrderReady is a straightforward number board: your staff post an order number, it shows on the TV, it gets removed. BobaQueue is a pickup board that fills itself — orders arrive from Square with names and items, staff tap Ready, and the customer sees their own name move. The two now cost the same $19.99 a month — the difference is whether the board does the work or your staff do.

The honest read
You want a free tier or the lowest annual rate — OrderReady posts 10 numbers a day free, and $199.99 a year undercuts any monthly plan. For a counter that already calls numbers off receipts and doesn't mind typing them, it digitizes exactly that habit.
You don't want the board to be another thing staff maintain. Orders appear on their own from Square, with the customer's name — which matters in a boba shop, where six milk teas in a row look identical and everybody's waiting on a name, not a number. The one tap staff make (Ready) is work they were doing anyway. At the same $19.99 a month, the difference isn't price — it's who does the typing.
Questions
Only if you want it to be. On Square, orders arrive on the board by themselves with names and items. Without Square — or for orders rung without a pickup ticket — staff add an order with two taps on the barista page.
Yes. The two-tap barista page works with any register — type a name, tap add. Square just removes even that step for orders it knows about.

Drink shops run on names — the cup already has one written on it. A name on the board ends the "is this mine?" shuffle at the counter, and it reads as hospitality instead of a ticket queue. (BobaQueue shows an order number too, for shops that want both.)
